- 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor
- 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM for a 32-bit processor and 2 gigabytes (GB) of RAM for a 64-bit processor
- 16 gigabyte (GB) of storage for a 32-bit processor and 32 gigabytes (GB) of storage for the 64-bit processor
The above-mentioned requirements are defined by Microsoft but for real application and use these requirements are no good. So let’s start the part that you are here for, i.e making a bootable USB.

Steps on how to make a bootable USB for Windows 10
To make a bootable USB through Win 10 installation media follow these steps. This process requires an internet connection.
- Download Win 10 installation media from this link.
- Run the downloaded tool and agree to license terms.
- What do you want to do? Page, choose to Create installation media for another PC, and then press Next.
- Next, you have to select the language, edition, and architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) for your windows 10.
- Select USB flash drive on Choose which media to use page.
- Now select the USB drive that you want to use for installing Win 10. Make sure it has at least 8 GB of free space. Beware that any content in that USB drive will be removed so make sure that it’s empty.
- After the process is complete you will have your own Win 10 bootable USB.
Using Rufus
If you already have an ISO for windows 10 then there is another way for making your own bootable USB drive. For this method, you will have to follow these steps.
- Download Rufus.
- After downloading Rufus run the application. After running the application you will be prompted with this screen.
- Here select the USB drive that you want to make bootable and select the Win 10 ISO that you have.
- Press Start and after it’s completed, you will have your own bootable USB.
